DURHAM TEEN COURT & RESTITUTION PROGRAM

About

Our Mission

Durham County Teen Court and Restitution is committed to providing a platform for young individuals to learn from their mistakes, grow positively, and contribute constructively to society. Our aim is to offer a second chance to youth involved in minor offenses, guiding them towards making better choices and becoming responsible citizens. We believe in the power of rehabilitation and restoration for a brighter future.

Our Services

Hands joined together

Teen Court

Through Teen Court, youth are given the opportunity to be judged by their peers and learn from their mistakes in a supportive environment. This innovative approach promotes understanding, personal growth, and a sense of responsibility among young participants, emphasizing positive behavioral change and community impact.

Restitution Program

Our restitution programs encourage youth to take accountability for their actions and make amends to the community by completing community service. By engaging in restitution activities, young individuals learn the value of responsibility and develop empathy towards others, fostering a sense of community unity and understanding.

Workshops

Through our workshops, youth can explore and comprehend the consequences of theft and substance abuse. The Earn It program is designed to help participants process the impacts of theft, while S.O.A.S.A focuses on supporting those dealing with alcohol/drug offenses, including juveniles at risk for substance abuse. Together, these initiatives aim to foster understanding and promote positive choices among young individuals.
