Getting our youth to understand that their actions have consequences, therefore they need to make more sound and thought out decisions is vital to the process.
Formally the “Fighting Fair Workshop”
Choices is a workshop for juveniles charged with fighting or assault. Youth who have anger management issues are referred to this workshop as well. Other youth may be referred if they have a need for anger management or conflict resolution skills. This workshop strives to show young people that conflict is natural and inevitable, something they cannot escape. What is often problematic is a person’s reaction to conflict. The goal is to show youth there are ways to react in tense situations that will result in positive or at least non-violent outcomes. Through role-plays, group games and discussions we explore non-violent ways to resolve conflict. The youth learn how to attack problems not people.
